Random A fair bit happened today. Firstly, Kate left for Spain for her indefinite working holiday. After multiple going away parties she finally hopped on the plane and away she went. If i didn’t have to work i would’ve gone to the airport to see her off. Sorry Kate, and Good Luck!!
Basketball was interesting. For the second, or maybe third time this season the opposition has walked off the court, handing us the win via forfeit. This time they’d only played 9 minutes before leaving. We weren’t even beating them that badly, so we weren’t sure what was going on.
This meant we could have a 4-on-4 game, using our 7 players and one of their guys who still wanted to play. Was just a bit of fun, but it was good to just get out there and play.
And finally, my new camera is on order. Should arrive on Thursday! Score! This will give me plenty of time to work out everything that it can do before my overseas holiday.

Fiji/Vanuatu So with my upcoming overseas trip, it’s time for me to buy a new camera. Went and checked out a couple tonight, the Canon 500D and 50D. Was in 2 minds as to which one i should get, knowing that the 500D would be cheaper. But after playing with both of them it seems the 50D will be the much better option, it’s built more solidly, has a lot more weather protection, and feels better in the hand.
So now to decide which lens/lenses to buy with it. Can either get the cheaper twin lens kit, with 2 entry level lenses, or the single lens ‘enthusiast’ kit with a better all-round lens.

Work Monday night we had our semi-final for basketball, and if we won we’d have played in the grand final. But we lost. We played alright, but with only 5 fit players it was going to be hard
Matt was recovering from swine flu, and me and Rob had normal flu, so we weren’t really up to running around lots. The other guys still did a great job, and we only went down by 12 or so. Next season will be ours
Went to the doctors after that, and found out for sure that i didn’t have swine flu. It was just normal flu (or so i understood from the doctor), but i still got 3 days off work. So i’ve been stuck in bed for the last coupla days, trying not to cough my guts up. Lots of fun

Random Another late night of programming sees the main ENP site finally working correctly, with all redirects functioning like they should. Google has totally been my friend for this one. A few things to tidy up here and there and everything should be sweet again. Plus i’ve learnt a heap about web server configuration, which (i guess) can only be useful?

Random So i found my blog again, and the software was again out of date. So i updated it, and it all went smoothly. Then i decided it was time for a new theme, something that the multi-million web surfers that aren’t visiting my site can see. So i found this one, that kinda looks like my desk with stuff all over it. However, mine doesn’t have a poor excuse for a phone like the picture shows; My desk has a HTC Touch HD. It can do the novel things that we’ve come to expect phones to do, you know, like send mms for example, or copy and paste. And it’s not tied to some useless program to make it work, it just works

Random So i remembered i had a blog, and when i logged in it said the software was out of date. So i did what everyone would do – updated it. What a problem that turned out to be. Once it was updated i couldn’t log in anymore. I tried to roll back to the previous version, but the database had been updated. So i rolled the database back and updated again, but it still didn’t work. I knew my password, but for some reason it just wouldn’t accept it. Reset the password, still no go. So now my hopes turned to Google. After 1 minute of googling i cleared my cookies and my site is back up again. Yay! Now the hunt can continue for a new theme

Random I’ve decided my blog needs a new theme. The old one was alright, but it was fairly plain. While i liked that at one stage, it probably contributed to me not keeping it updated. So out with the old and in with the new. I’ll probably change it a few more times yet til i find something i like, or can be bothered to write my own. Looks like this’ll have to do for now
