I am awesome!
This is pretty cool, got a new Windows 7 Phone, and can post directly to my blog. Awesome!
Eurotrip!!!
So i didn’t remember/bother to write anything on here the whole time i was away. In any case, it was the most amazing time ever! We went through a whole stack of different countries, saw the way that the other side of the world lives, and drank beer everywhere!
In any case, Ted sums it well on his blog – http://georgemt84.wordpress.com/ – so check it out. We met him on the Contiki bus, and since he’s a writer he can do a better job at it that i can
Out and About in London!
We’ve now been here for a couple of days, and they’ve been pretty big. The first day was spent getting everything organised and catching up with everyone. But the first night… It was always going to be big
It was a double celebration for Dung’s birthday and our arrival, and i think it was someone elses birthday as well, so we were going out partying
It started fairly normally at Scott’s place, and we’d picked up a few bottles of cider to start off. A few bottles means about 10 drinks each, plus we also had duty free vodka that needed to be drunk. It was a new flavour called Berri Acai, and it tasted like Nerds
Then we went out and met Dung after she’d finished work, and then it got messy. More drinks, partying, meeting new people, it was a great night! We also went to a nightclub which was pretty cool, and when we finally got home (i can’t remember how) we had more drinks and crashed out
The next morning was spent nursing hangovers, and in the afternoon we went into Westminster to do a walking tour. We saw all of the major attractions around the city and wore ourselves out before heading back to Scott’s place, ready to get ourselves sorted for Contiki
Touchdown in London town!
We’ve finally arrived in London! After a 6 hour stopover in Singapore we finally made it, although we did have to circle before they’d let our plane leave
We started at Adelaide Airport around 10am, then after we cleared customs we sat and waited for a coupla hours so we could board the plane. A quick 7 and a half hours later and we had arrived in Singapore
First thing to do was find some food and some beer. Easily done, found a Burger King so food was sorted. We decide to wait on the beer, so went for a walk to see what was in the airport. There was a ridiculous amount of shops, everything way too expensive though, but there’s nothing wrong with looking
They also had a butterfly enclosure, so we had a quick look in there. The humidity was stupidly high, and it was night time, so there wasn’t many butterfly’s to be seen
Beer time, so off to the travelers bar. A quick stopover here and it was time to board the plane again, although it was delayed for 1/2 an hour
The A380, what a plane! It is huge, and even though we didn’t get upgraded it was still awesome. We slept on and off for a few hours, as well as enjoying the ‘tailcam’ view to see what was happening
We finally touched down in London around 7am-ish, cleared customs (way too easily), then onto the tube to try to find Scott’s place. He’d sent instructions so it wasn’t too hard, but we still had to get to the right places. We finally made it, and found Scott waiting for us
A 15 minute walk later and we were at Scott’s place, and Dung was there as well. She was off to work, but we’re all going out tonight for her birthday
Off to Europe!
I’ve finished packing everything, so now all that’s left to do is goto the airport and fly to London! Almost party time with Scott, Kate and Dung! See you soon guys!
Upgrading the Netbook
I’ve had my Netbook for a few days, and already I’ve decided that the 320Gb hard drive isn’t going to be big enough. So I bought a 500Gb hard drive to install instead. It didn’t quite go to plan
I ghosted the old to the new, and that bit went fine, but then when I installed the new drive it wouldn’t boot. Shit. I had to boot from the Windows DVD and repair the boot sector, and now it all works again. Phew. Now to update the OS to Windows 7 Enterprise x64
Netbook for Travelling
Holiday Time Again!
Well, it’s that time again. I’ve remembered again that I have this blog, and just in time – I’m heading to Europe! In just over 5 weeks I’ll be hopping on a plane and heading over to London to hang out with Scotty, Dung and Kate at their new place, and catch up with some mates as well. Sam (my cousin) will be coming as well, and while we’re there Bel will be there, Chandy will be there, and I’m sure there’ll be others as well
So far we’ve booked a Contiki tour round Europe for a couple of weeks, a few days in Spain for La Tomatina, Oktoberfest in Germany, and we’re looking to go to the Greek Islands as well. I’m sure we’ll know more in the current weeks. Can’t wait!
The Happenings of Today
A fair bit happened today. Firstly, Kate left for Spain for her indefinite working holiday. After multiple going away parties she finally hopped on the plane and away she went. If i didn’t have to work i would’ve gone to the airport to see her off. Sorry Kate, and Good Luck!!
Basketball was interesting. For the second, or maybe third time this season the opposition has walked off the court, handing us the win via forfeit. This time they’d only played 9 minutes before leaving. We weren’t even beating them that badly, so we weren’t sure what was going on.
This meant we could have a 4-on-4 game, using our 7 players and one of their guys who still wanted to play. Was just a bit of fun, but it was good to just get out there and play.
And finally, my new camera is on order. Should arrive on Thursday! Score! This will give me plenty of time to work out everything that it can do before my overseas holiday.
